The CSIC has developed a portable device to assay oxidation of oil and other foods with lipids. It enables producers to simulate the process of food oxidation in virtually real conditions, therefore emulating transport and storage environment. Now, scientists are seeking for agro-food companies interested in the development.

Alert system to improve the production of farmed fish

Researches from the Instituto de Acuicultura Torre de la Sal (IATS-CSIC), the Instituto de Microelectrónica de Barcelona (IMB-CNM-CSIC) and the Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria have developed an intelligent system “AE-FishBIT” for monitoring the behaviour of breeding fishes. The device makes it possible to know the degree of well-being of farmed fish to improve the production.

Method for detecting allergens from lupin seeds with a high specificity
